Quote Of The Day:
"I represent the kids who come from nothing but who understand it all and love it all. That's what I represent - those are the cool kids, you know, the kids of tomorrow, because who would've known that I'd be who I am today? We are the kids of tomorrow."

Do This ONE Thing To Succeed
Your expectations as an artist are extremely high, I get it because I am one! Our biggest downfall is that we often look at our music as the center of the universe and wonder why the whole planet isn't streaming our creations. Well unfortunately music takes some time & major patience.
"I've tried that."
Look, music is extremely subjective! Oftentimes artists get caught up in the fact that they tried a marketing method for one release and it didn't work for them. The truth of the matter is that there simply are too many variations of sound for one to rule out their old marketing methods. Let's take TikTok for example; you tried marketing your song for 30 days straight only to find that you got a couple of thousand streams but none of your content really blew up to take you to that next level. Who's to say that can't happen on your next release? It's all about what the market wants, not your feelings!
Learning from your mistakes - let's face it, your biggest mistake is that you probably just didn't try hard enough to begin with... Review your last release, did you do everything you could have? Do you ever look back and say; "I could have" or "I should have?" If so, my point has been proven! Maybe you did more than enough but it wasn't the right direction for that release. There are millions of variables so we need to have a keen eye and really look back and determine what went wrong.
There are no ultimatums - Music marketing simply does not have a "yes or no" factor. Realistically there's no real wrong or right way to promote your music. As mentioned in the introduction, music is so subjective that at times it may be extremely difficult to find your target audience, try EVERYTHING!
Practicality vs Emotion - The best thing an artist can do is remove their emotions from the actual release of a song. The emotions belong to the artistic side of the actual creation of our music. When we expect everything to blow up we create of own anxiety and fear which makes many artists ultimately quit before they even reach the start line. Understand that your music is an asset, maybe it doesn't blow up today, but it might next year! We have to understand that it's not all over within the first month of being released.
What's that one thing? - *Queue the drumroll!* Be proactive, this is that one thing. It's simple, you have a problem, it needs solving. Your problem is you haven't found the best way to market yourself so something needs to change. The more effort you put into finding that method whether it be TikTok, Facebook Ads, Live Shows, etc, you need to be trying! The issue is most people never actually try something new and then complain when nothing is working. GET UP AND TRY SOMETHING NEW!

Is Apple Banning TikTok?
Don't get scared, they tried this once, but they had to try again. Apparently, we're in another data war in which FCC has reason to believe that China is collecting data on US citizens via TikTok.
Realistically, I believe that China is simply trying to collect data on my music to try genetically modifying a baby to be as talented as me. Unfortunately, I do not believe that's even possible as I'm a professional rapper.
Anyways, if you're an artist pushing your craft on TikTok keep up on this and consider a backup plan for marketing. The odds of this actually happening are slim to none, but it's good to keep something in the back pocket just in case.
TikTok claims that the data that is being collected is only accessible in the United States and that China has nothing to do with this data by any means.
What do you personally think? Do you think China will ever be able to create a super baby as talented as me? Reply to this email with your thoughts.
Kenny Beats x XQC
If you haven't heard of Kenny Beats then you must be living under a rock, (assuming you're in the music industry.) Kenny has basically worked with any large artist you could possibly think of, duh. Kenny Beats decided to help one of the biggest twitch streamers on the planet; XQC, make an EDM beat. If you haven't watched XQC then you're missing out, dude is a psychopath, (in a good way.)
If you fear music production then this video will be insanely powerful and most likely motivate the heck out of you! Let's be real, XQC is not the brightest crayon in the box, but with a little guidance, he actually makes a pretty sick track.
If you're too lazy to watch, (yes I'm attacking you,) here are some key points:
The biggest streamer in the world xQc was making a beat on FL studio Live on Twitch
Kenny Beats was able to join the discord with xQc and helped him put together a track
Kenny sent him a bunch of loops, samples, and also hooked him up with a splice account
They chatted about the music industry and how producers get paid as well as some production tips and tricks
The stream was good vibes and was awesome to see a crossover between one of the biggest gamers and one of the biggest producers
Now more than ever streaming and music have become an incredible crossover. From celebrities like Post Malone playing with professional gamers to artists doing their live shows from the comfort of their homes. Despite Covid-19, we were able to create an amazing situation in which the music did not stop!
Your Microphone Is Everything
Let's highlight an underrated fact, your microphone is literally the most important factor in your song. So many artists are stuck on these expensive vocal mixes and studio time, and ignorant to the fact that they're capable of radio quality.
The microphone is the root of the entire tree when it comes to your vocals cutting through the mix. The more capable your mic is of picking up the frequency, the more likely that your true voice will be present within the song.
What's our favorite microphone?
After testing $300 microphones $5000 microphones, and so forth, the Shure SM7B is hands down one of the most versatile microphones we have used. This microphone is not only amazing for vocal recordings but also for podcasting, discord, and basically anything else. The Shure has a nice warm sound acceptable for any vocal performance. Not only that, the Shure comes with a sick swivel arm that clamps to your desk for easy mobility and adjustment. DEFINITELY SUGGEST THIS MICROPHONE
Artist of the week: Isabel Larosa
So imagine that the Stranger Things cast took a child from birth and made them watch stranger things for the entirety of their life and make music based on the show. Seriously, take any song of hers and put it over a montage of Stranger Things clips and it always fits. (Not that I have, I just know that it would work.)
What's even more genius is she knows it. She literally markets a lot of her songs on TikTok referencing Stranger Things which I think is brilliant. From her fashion to her Labritnth-like music style, she fits the audience to a tee.
When I discovered her she had just dropped her single "Haunted" which garnered over a million streams the first week. That same song is now climbing past 9 million, soon to hit 10. Shows you what a kid and an iPhone can really create in this modern age.
YOU go girl, way to hack a trend!

Freestyle Friday: DaBaby
Alright, I have never seen someone deliver a flow in such an instantaneous fashion as DaBaby does in this freestyle. The very second that the beat drops DaBaby is rapping, and I mean RAPPING. Simply check it out, you'll be just as shocked as I.
Notable Lyrics:
I'm the type of rap ni**a, kill a rap Ni**a now/Still walk in and do my lil show there/
All it took was these two lines to have my head bobbing...
