How To Make Viral Music Content

Look, most of us simply don't have the money to spend on music promotion, therefore we live in a market in which content is king. In this article, I want to share some concepts on how you can step up your short-form content today!

(The first fact I want to mention: None of these tips will help you if you aren't consistent!)

1.) Every post should go everywhere - I know that you think that TikTok alone is a giant powerhouse that can lead you to millions of streams and you're right! But something you may not be considering is that Instagram Reels and Youtube Shorts are nearly the same things! Going viral is a rarity on TikTok so it's time to expand and consider giving your post multiple chances of popping off!

2.) Finding Ideas -

  • Watch that FYP

  • Follow other Musicians! (My Favorite Way.)

  • Take what you've done before and make micro changes.

3.) Follow the trends - It's simple really, find a trend and somehow relate it to your music. This might not always work but 90% of trends can be music related, you got need to be creative! Try out this free app to find Tik Tok trends!

4.) Share the process - For some reason people on Tik Tok and other short content platforms love knowing "how" someone did what they did. It can be as simple as a short hook at the beginning that states something along the lines of "how I killed this sample." Following the hook, chop up a few clips of you actually creating the beat/song.

5.) Sampling Other Content (For Producers.) - Take the audio from a viral clip, sample it into your beat, and go viral. It really is that easy...

6.) Just show off - This is likely the most simple tip here, but just post something. So many musicians complain about not blowing up while not posting anything at all and that really grinds my gears

7.) Make Tutorials - You'd be amazed at how confusing your average person finds music to be. Even people that will never make music find tutorials interesting. Tutorials arguably have more viral potential than your actual music alone.

8.) Skits - These videos definitely require loads and loads of effort but they are definitely worth it. These are the types of videos that will get you to that 10m+ view range if you do it the right way.

What steps are you taking to grow in the short content scene? Reply to this email, you might teach us a thing or two!

The Cheapest High-Quality Microphone On Earth

Let's assume you just started, you haven't even purchased recording equipment. You need a microphone that will give you the same quality as your favorite artists, but for cheap. This is what you're looking for!

The AKG P120 is not only cheap, but it provides the same crisp & clean recording needed for a professional-sounding track. This is the first microphone that I ever purchased and it just so happens that I still have it. Despite having a mic much more costly, I still record on this microphone from time to time, the sound is just that unique.

Artist of the week: 347aidan

Google

The 19-year-old from Cambridge Ontario 347aidan has made a HUGE name for himself in the last year pairing his music with clever TikTok content.

Aidan is one of the most unique artists I've heard emerge for quite a long time. What I find to be most shocking is that many of his vocal mixes have this really distant, far-away, and almost unprofessional sound to them. At first, I was a little weary of his sound but honestly, I've grown to love it.

If you're a fan of Alternative Hip Hop, this guy is right up your alley!

Freestyle Friday: Ray Vaughn

The latest TDE member Ray Vaughn is LITERALLY insane! This man started rapping and simply didn't stop until the end of the video. An insane punchline follows every single line. This is my first time hearing about him and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed by his bars.

TDE sure knows to pick their artists!

Notable Lyrics:

I got love in my heart that you would never find/

See N*ggas scared of their demons, I make friends with mine/

I might of been the truth but I never lied/

I need something to feel alive when I'm dead inside/

Nick Grant

This has to be one of the best freestyles we've shared yet!
